Why You Really Do Need To Watch Your 2 Year Old!

This morning Cody headed up to his baseball field and Rylan and I stayed behind since the weather has been wet and cold here the past few days. While we were sitting in the living room, Rylan found my tub of Tummy Butter. For those of you who may not know, Tummy Butter is basically stretch mark prevention cream. It's thick and it doesn't have the best smell, but it works. Well, I made sure the lid was on tight (or so I thought) and let him play with it. I got distracted doing so other things, and he was content on the floor with my Tummy Butter so I thought I was in the clear. A few minutes later I heard him hysterically start laughing. I turned around to see that Rylan had put Tummy Butter all over our dog's head and side...and the dog had let him do it!!! And, let me just tell you, Tummy Butter is not easily cleaned out of dog's fur. I did the best I could and put the dog outside to go roll in the grass. So, the moral of this story...the lid is never on tight enough!!

I love that the label on the Tummy Butter proudly proclaims "This product not tested on animals." Well, guess what E.T. Brown Drug Company...it has been now!

Not a great picture but I'm sure those of you who have also tried to get a 2 year old and a dog in the same picture can sympathize. If you click on the picture and enlarge it you can see the clumps of Tummy Butter on the dogs head. And, this was after I cleaned him off!

Is My Little Boy Really Almost 2?!!

Now that I am pregnant with our second child I can't help but feel a little bit of guilt knowing that we only have a short time left with just Rylan. Has anyone else felt this way when they were pregnant with their second? Anyway, I am really trying to cherish every day with my little man right now. Before I became Rylan's mommy I had no idea I could feel a love like this for someone. Of course I love my husband to death, but the love you have for your child is totally different. If I love my child this much, it makes it so hard for me to even fathom how much my heavenly father loves me! These two years with my first baby have flown by, but I can honestly say I have LOVED every stage with him. I truly can't believe that he will be 2 in just a couple of weeks!

Things I Cherish About My Little Boy...
I love the way you say "best momma" to me!
I think it's precious that you absolutely worship your daddy!
I love that at 2 years old you say "sorry" when you hurt someone's feelings!
I think your chubby little thighs get cuter every day!
I love our bedtime routine...don't you let those bed bugs bite!
I think your laugh could melt anyone's heart!
I love watching you and daddy wrestle in the middle of the living room!
I think you are absolutely adorable when you sleep!
I love that you make me a better person each day!

Just Cleaning Up A Little

Rylan has become obsessed with imitating Cody and I. Of course he loves to do all things baseball because that's what Cody does. With me, he has started imitating what I do when I clean. The other day I was vacuuming the house and all of a sudden he was behind me with his play mower acting like he was vacuuming too. What was so funny to me was how he held the cord of the vacuum just like I did. He took this job very seriously and stuck with it until I was all done.

Our Little Stripper

So lately every time we put Rylan down for a nap he strips before he actually falls asleep. We have tried the PJ's with the flap at the top of the zipper thinking that would keep him from stripping down. No such luck!! So, for now we just have to keep the thermostat turned up so the house stays warm enough and hope that he doesn't decide to take the diaper off too. Any suggestions on how to keep your kid's clothes on while they sleep would be greatly appreciated!!

Baseball in Tyler, Texas

These pictures are over a week old so I am obviously trying to play catchup on the blog. On Feb. 28th Papa, Nonni and RoRo all came into town and then we all packed up to head to Tyler, Texas to go watch Cody's team play in the championship game of their tournament. It was a windy, cold day but we bundled up and had a great time. I wish we could say that Cody's team won, but unfortunately they lost. However, they won 3 straight games in the tournament to get to the championship game so we are proud of the boys for that.

Rylan had a great time at the game. There was a huge grass hill behind the dugout that kept him busy. I think RoRo and Nonni got their share of exercise going up and down the hill with Rylan. He also thought it was funny to knock on the back of the metal dugout and say "hello" to the boys. Of course, most of all he just wanted to see his daddy. Sometimes he has a hard time understanding why he can see daddy on the field but can't go to him.

Cody's team is about to head into district play so we wish them all luck!

He had just knocked on the dugout, but was getting upset that no one was answering him.

Seeing daddy after the game is always the best part!

IT'S A....

GIRL!!!!

I had an ultrasound today to see if we could tell the sex of the baby. Immediately the doctor said she had a good idea, but she kept probing around for another 5-10 minutes. Finally, she told me she is 99% sure that we are having a little girl since there is absolutely no evidence of little boy parts. I was beyond excited!!

I wanted a little girl because I am so close with my mom. We talk 2-3 times a day on the phone. I want that same relationship with a daughter of my own, and now I will have it!

Cody is nervous to say the least. It's not that he didn't want a girl. He just knows he will be so protective of a little girl. At least she'll have her big brother Rylan to look out for her! I think it will be good for Cody to have a little girl.
