Rylan's First Halloween!!

Rylan's first Halloween was a hit!! I took Rylan over to Cody's school at 5:00 dressed in his dragon costume. Daddy had to show him off to a few people before we went to grab some dinner. After we ate, we went to Coach Rangel's house for a few minutes to see their family. Finally we headed back to Wylie but we stopped by Stacey's house so she could see the little dragon. He was so good tonight. He was so cute in his costume, but I think he was just happy to see his daddy for so long tonight. Anyway, here are some pictures from the night.

Rylan sitting up at the table at the restaurant. This is his new "Big Boy Chair" and he loves it! He thinks he is so big sitting at our level at the table now.

His belly is full of turkey and rice dinner and he's a happy boy

Here's our little dragon.

TCHS Homecoming Win

Last night Rylan and I got some warm clothes on and packed up the diaper bag to head to Cody's Homecoming game at TCHS. They played Lake Dallas who was unbeaten in district. This was probably the best football game I've ever watched. We were up 12-0 at halftime and that's when the entertainment really got good. During the halftime performance 4 streakers ran across the field while the Lake Dallas drill team performed. They each had shirts on with one of the school letters (T, C, H, S) when they made their infamous run. T, C, and S were caught and arrested, but Mr. H somehow made a clean getaway. Of course the administration didn't think the stunt was too funny, but the crowd loved it. During the second half of the game the Cougars made some mistakes and let Lake Dallas go ahead 20-19 with only a couple of minutes left in the game. However, we came back and won the game by kicking a field goal with time expiring on the clock. It was a great way to win a Homecoming game. After the game the coaches and families went up to the field house for a pizza party. Rylan was so good at the game and he was super excited to see daddy after it was over.
Rylan needed to rest up for the big game

The Cougar team taking part in the school song after the big win

Look at that precious baby look at his daddy. Is there any doubt that Rylan absolutely worships his daddy?

Cody wanted me to be sure and get the scoreboard in the background

This is one tired family at 11:00pm

Pumpkin Patch Day Two

Today after church we decided to take daddy to the pumpkin patch that we visited yesterday with Natalie and Addie. Since Sunday is Cody's only full day home with us each week we try to make the most of them. I got some more good pictures of Rylan and some of him with daddy.

Rylan goes tomorrow for his 6 month well baby visit. He will of course get shots which is never a fun thing for him or mommy. I am interested to see how much he weighs and how long he is. He has become a long, thin baby over the past 2 months. He's not quite the tank he was when he was born. Anyway, he has done great with the shots before so hopefully this time won't be any different.

2 Football Widows, 2 Kids, 1 Pumpkin Patch

Rylan and mommy at the pumpkin patch

Honestly, does it get any cuter than this?

Rylan had a good time in the grass at the pumpkin patch

So many pumpkins, so little time

Rylan and Addie outside the buffalo pen...yes you heard me right I said buffalo pen

I absolutely adore that smile!
This afternoon Natalie and I decided to be "football widows" together. We took Rylan and Addie to a pumpkin patch in Richardson. I of course found this to be the perfect opportunity to dress Rylan in his overalls. While at the pumpkin patch we went through the petting zoo which had goats, longhorns, and buffalo. We also went on a hay ride around the property and then took tons of pictures in the actual pumpkin patch. It was tons of fun, but I do have to say that there was something very strange about going to a pumpkin patch in mid October and sweating because it's still in the mid 80's.

Rylan turned 6 months old yesterday. I honestly cannot believe that much time has gone by and I can't even remember what life was like without him. He has become our entertainment and we love it!

We will be having Rylan's baby dedication at our church on November 11th. This is so important to us because our most desperate prayers were answered when God gave us the baby we wanted more than words could ever explain. Now our focus is to raise him in a Christ-centered home.

Mr. Round Bottom Can Sit

My baby sat on his own tonight!! These are the 3 best pictures we got. We have several of him tipping over because sitting up and falling down became a game for him after a while.
Rylan will be 6 months old on Friday so I will post more pictures then.

The Greatest Man I Know

I was tagged by Natalie to tell about Cody so here it goes....

1. Who is your man? Cody Heath Salyers

2. How long have you been together? Married over 3, but together for almost 6

3. How long did you date? We dated for 1 year and were engaged for 15 months

4. How old is your man? He is 31 (I give him a hard time about being older than my older brother and the fact that I was in 7th grade when he graduated high school)

5. Who eats more? Cody...he is NEVER full

6. Who said "I love you" first? Not sure...I think I did

7. Who is taller? Cody...he is 5'10" and I am 5'6"

8. Who sings better? I'll give that honor to Cody. He's not bashful about singing and his theme song is "Oh Lord It's Hard To Be Humble"

9. Who is smarter? I am book smart because I actually like to study. Cody is common sense smart (which I cannot claim for myself). He also thinks he is "street smart" because if you ask him he'll tell you about how he grew up in the ghetto of Abilene.

10. Whose temper is worse? Neither of us have a temper.

11. Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but I will give Cody credit and say that he can do laundry and he doesn't even ruin anything

12. Who take out the garbage? Cody

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are looking at the bed I sleep on the right side. Cody sleeps by the window because I have a fear of sleeping next to windows.

14. Who pays the bills? Me...I don't even think Cody knows what our bills are

15. Who is better with the computer? Hahaha...DEFINITELY ME!! Cody does good just to get an email composed and sent to the right person.

16. Who mows the lawn? We are paying someone to do it during football season

17. Who cooks dinner? Cook???? We don't use that word at our house. Taco Bell, Wendy's, Chili's, etc. cook our dinners

18. Who drives when you are together? Always Cody

19. Who pays when you go out? Whoever isn't holding the baby carrier

20. Who is most stubborn? I am...but it's because I'm always right!

21. Whose parents do you see the most? We get to see my mom and Cody's parents the most because they live in Abilene. My dad lives in New Mexico so we don't get to see him much, but we make sure to keep him updated on the latest "Rylan News"

22. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? See question #20...I'm never wrong.

23. Who kissed who first? Cody kissed me first...it only took 10 dates!

24. Who asked who out? We were set up on a blind date by mutual friends

25. Who proposed? Cody proposed at 5:00am at my apartment when we were leaving to go to Farmington for Spring Break.

26. Who is more sensitive? That would be me

27. Who has more friends? Since we are in Texas we see more of Cody's friends from the past, but now we have several couples that we have met since living in the metroplex

28. Who has more siblings? I have one older brother and Cody has one older brother

29. Who wears the pants in the family? Cody
