Just a Year Ago...

This was the first time we heard Rylan's heartbeat.
This was our first picture of Rylan
Does it get more precious than this?
We love nap time!!
Wrestling (or as they say here in Texas...wraslin') with puppy
The thumb will do it every time

One year ago tonight I was about to go through my second IVF attempt. It was the morning of July 27th that Rylan was transfered. At 7:00 that morning they pulled him out of the freezer to let him thaw before the transfer began at 10:00. One year later here we are with Rylan. It is nothing short of God's perfect plan for us and now we are lucky enough to be called mommy and daddy.

Look Everyone...FEET!!!

As you can see by the pictures, Rylan has discovered his feet and he loves to talk to them! They never talk back, but that doesn't seem to bother him. He rolled over (tummy to back) for the first time on the 21st. And yes, Cody and I were your typical first time parents...we had the video camera out. God has truly blessed us with a perfect, healthy baby.

Play Ball!!

Well, it's offical...daddy thinks he's going to be a catcher. By the time he's two he'll know how to call pitches I'm sure.

Cody and I were just talking today about how he is getting to that "fun" stage now. Don't get me wrong, I do miss my little newborn who would snuggle up to me and sleep for hours. However, I am now begininng to enjoy the smiles, laughs, coos, and playtime. It seems like every day he gets a new expression or does something he hasn't done before. This time off with him has been so much fun for Cody and I.

"Big" Things

Rylan spent a big day out on the town with his daddy today. I had to work from 9:00-3:30 which meant Cody was in charge today. Rylan got to go up to daddy's school. He was appropriately wearing his "Daddy's Got My Back" t-shirt. Cody even changed a poopy diaper on his own without dry heaving. I have to admit that I was a little anxious about leaving Rylan for that long, but daddy did a great job!!

Rylan got a "Big Boy" tub yesterday. He was quickly outgrowing his infant tub although the packaging stated that it fit babies up to 6 months. Apparently, our packaging didn't include the small print that states "If your 3 month old is a tank we can no longer promise the successful use of our product." Anyway, he loves all the extra room in his new tub and mommy doesn't have to keep refilling the displaced water every 2 minutes. It's a win-win for us all!!

Enjoy the new pics!!

Worn Out!

Daddy has been working with Rylan on his rolling over the last few days. He gives it a good try but then gives up and starts sucking his thumb. As you can see by the picture daddy wore him out.

Hallelujah!!

Rylan slept through the night for the first time last night!! This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but keep in mind we're the parents of a 15 pound 3 month old who thinks he HAS to eat every three hours...day and night. We got great sleep and Rylan realized he won't die if he doesn't get a bottle at 3:00am.

Well, that was our exciting news for the day, but I have attached several more pictures of God's most perfect creation.

I Finally Started a Blog!!!

Okay, so I have had a ton of people tell me to start a blog now that we have Rylan. So...here it is! Rylan is 3 months old today and he is truly our pride and joy. He is a BIG boy to say the least. At his last appointment on June 26th he weighed 14 pounds 9 ounces and was a little longer than 25". Needless to say, he doesn't miss a meal.

Cody and I have enjoyed our summer off, but know that it is quickly coming to an end which means football season will start up. Cody is coaching the varsity secondary this year and he's really looking forward to that. Rylan and I will of course be at all the games sporting our TCHS Cougar attire and cheering the boys on.

I am looking forward to returning to work, but also dreading the day I have to drop Rylan off at the babysitter's. It will be a long day for me I'm sure.

Since this is my first post I have attached several of our most recent pictures of Rylan. We of course think he is the cutest little boy God ever created!
