My Whole World In One Picture

I love this picture of my two boys! I couldn't imagine my life without either of them, and I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams to be Cody's wife and Rylan's mommy.

First He'll Win The Heisman...Then He'll Play Pro Baseball

Cody's football season is over and what do we do? We spend the weekend watching more football! We've spent a lazy Sunday at home watching football games and Rylan has really gotten into it. He LOVES to watch football lately. He's even picked up on the fact that different positions use different stances. He's hilarious to watch!

This is his linebacker stance.

This is his lineman stance.

So I couldn't resist! I am in love with little boys having a faux hawk so we tried it out on Rylan this morning. How cute is he?!!

The Little Lion Is Finally Feeling Better

What a week this has been!! Tuesday afternoon Rylan's school called me around 3:00 to tell me that he was running fever and acting pretty sick. I went to pick him up and made plans to stay home with him on Wednesday. His fever continued into Wednesday and when he woke up from his nap at noon his fever was 104+. I called the pediatrician's office and they had me bring him right in. He had been on an antibiotic for 5 days at this point so the fever was concerning. Well, after the pediatrician checked him out she made the decision to send us to Children's Legacy to have some more test run. So, off I went to Children's. When we got there the doctor decided to start IV access on him and get some blood work. The nurses were great, but unfortunately it took 2 sticks to get the IV. He was a pathetic little site in my lap with his arm all taped up to the arm board. After the lab work came back the doctor came in to tell us that he thought Rylan had Epstein Barr virus on top of the Strep he already had. Rylan's fever finally went away yesterday, but today he broke out in a rash all over his body which makes me fairly positive that he actually had Roseola. We were able to dress him up in his costume and go to Cody's game for a little while. He was pretty popular in the stands with his costume. Anyway, we are thankful that this stressful week has come to an end and Rylan is now fever free!

Some Halloween Fun

After 24 hours on his antibiotic, Rylan started feeling a lot better so we decided to do something fun. We went to Wal-Mart and got a do-it-yourself Halloween Haunted House kit. He had a good time with the orange icing as you can see by the pictures. I chose to skip the black icing since I saw the mess black icing could make from his birthday cake. He had so much fun sticking all the candies on the house...and painting his body with icing. He never even tried to taste the icing either.

What A Week!

Wednesday night Rylan's school had their fall carnival from 7:30-9:00. The kids were suppose to come dressed in their costumes. Of course I was more than excited to get Rylan dressed in his lion suit for the carnival. Rylan had a great time playing games. He got some candy as prizes but of course he had no idea what it was so he just gladly handed it over to Cody. Rylan's costume was a hit! Everyone kept commenting on how cute the little lion was. It really was a fun night.

Now for the not so good part of the week...Thursday when I picked Rylan up at his school I noticed he felt a little warm. However, he was still his happy little self so I didn't think much of it. Then, at dinner he didn't really want to eat. Instead, he just put his head down on the table. When I picked him up from the table I noticed that he felt very warm. I took his temperature and it was 102.6. I gave him some Tylenol and put him to bed. We made the decision that Cody would stay home with him today since he obviously didn't need to go to school. Well, all day he has still had fever so I told Cody to take him in to Dr. Lanman...have I mentioned Cody is the best daddy ever?! Well, Cody called me at 2:30 after seeing the doctor to tell me that Rylan tested positive for Strep. Ugh...not again! This is the third time Rylan has tested positive for Strep. Plus, taking an antibiotic for Strep in the past resulted in him getting C.Diff. I know he has to have an antibiotic to get rid of the Strep, but now I am nervous about the real possibility that he can get C. Diff again in a month or so as a result of taking the Augmentin. He is currently still on a probiotic in an attempt to totally clear up the C. Diff from before. Obviously we aren't going to Cody's game tonight, but he understands. Hopefully Rylan will be feeling better within 24 hours and we can just have a relaxing family weekend here at the house.
