1. CRAWLING!!! Yep, that's right he is officially crawling and making his way around the house as he pleases. He first started out with an "army crawl" but has recently started getting up on his knees to crawl. I have to admit that this milestone saddens me a bit. I kind of liked the fact that he needed me to take him everywhere.
2. We have finally used up all the golden juice (a.k.a. frozen breastmilk) and he is now on formula. I pumped like a mad woman the first 5 months so that he would have enough to last a while. I had hoped to pump enough to last until about 9 months when the school year would be over. However, I know I gave him a good start with 8 months of breastmilk so I do feel good about that.
3. Hudson is still very much attached to his pacifiers. I had gotten Rylan off the pacifier by 8 months, but I just don't have the heart to take it away from Hudson yet...probably because he is my last baby and I don't want to rush things. However, I promise I won't have a 4 year old walking around Wal-Mart with a pacifier in his mouth. Maybe this summer we'll work on it.
4. He has started babbling a lot this month. He says dada a lot when Cody is around, but we're not sure yet if he really knows what it means.
5. He is just shy of 17 pounds. He is still on the little side, but that's okay. He's kind of our tough little bulldog baby. I think Rylan better watch out when Hudson gets big enough to wrestle!
6. Hudson loves to play with Rylan. While Cody and I get ready in the mornings for work, Rylan and Hudson get in the crib with toys and play for a good 20-30 minutes. I love that they have this time together. I know they wont always play in a crib together, but I hope they always have some kind of special time together as brothers.
7. Hudson has also started eating puffs this month. We had tried them before, but he just seemed to gag on them. Now he loves them. He tries to shovel them in his mouth as fast as he can.
8. He has started pulling up on furniture too. He doesn't take any steps to walk around the furniture, but he sure does think he is big when he pulls up. He usually lets out a big squeal to make sure everyone sees him standing up.
9. If it's possible, his blonde hair is getting even lighter. I think most people look at Cody and I and wonder how we got a baby with such blonde hair...and blue eyes. I promise he's ours! :-)
10. Hudson and Rylan have started taking their baths together. They both get so excited when they are in the tub together. They love to splash and usually the bathroom is a wreck when they get out, but I know they've had a blast and water can always be wiped up.
Each month brings out more and more of Hudson's sweet little personality. One of my favorite things is going in to check on him at night after he falls asleep. He's usually on his tummy with his little butt up in the air. Every night when I see this I think the same thing...God, please don't let him grow up. However, I know he will but I try so hard to take in every moment of him just being my baby.
