Tonight Cody's team played the 5:00 game to start their tournament. Rylan and I planned on going until the weather turned out to be 38 degrees and misty/rainy. Since the weather wasn't cooperating we decided to wish daddy good luck and hang out at home tonight. Plus, I had some cleaning that I needed to get done. While I was cleaning the kitchen I put Rylan in his Jumperoo. The Jumperoo has been Rylan's absolute favorite toy and the best $35 I've ever spent at a second-hand store. Well, he was having a great time jumping while I scrubbed away. All of a sudden I realized he had gotten very quiet. When I looked up at him this is what I saw...

I'm Finally Posting Again!
Although I haven't posted on our blog lately, I have been busy taking pictures. Now that baseball season has started we are a family on the go. Cody's team plays their first real game tonight. Rylan and I decided to skip out on this one because we will be spending the entire weekend at the ball field since his team begins a tournament Thursday. We will get plenty of basbeall this weekend!
Here are some new pictures to enjoy!

This blanket is one of my prize possessions. This blanket belonged to my Meme before she gave it to me. When I was little my Meme or Poppy would pick me up from school on Thursdays. We would go to the video store and rent Annie on our way back home. Then I would get the "maroon blanket" out and snuggle down on their couch and watch my movie. Now Rylan loves wrestling with HIS "maroon blanket".

It's 1-2-3 Strikes You're Out At The Old Ballgame!!!
We have had a busy week. Last weekend Rylan started running fever and he developed a petechial rash all over his body. We took him to the doctor Monday and it was confirmed that he had Strep. As a precaution we also had to take him to Baylor Garland to have some blood work done. Once we started him on his antibiotic, his rash started to fade and the fever went away. Now we're just praying for him to stay well for a while.
Today Rylan and I went to Mesquite to watch daddy and the baseball boys play their game. It was such a nice day and I think Rylan loved being outside. He kept yelling for "Dada" from the stands and he was a very happy boy when the game was over and he got to go to daddy. Thankfully all the player's parents are so good to us and they love to take him off my hands when I need a break. However, he really was such a good boy today.

What Rylan Has Taught Me
I have just put Rylan down for his nap and I started thinking about how much I have learned since I became a mom almost 10 months ago. Here are just a few...
1. I've learned that it is only by the grace of God that I get through a day without baby food, formula, or poop on my own clothes.
2. I've learned that it is okay to leave a sink full of dishes sit there while I play Peek-A-Boo on the living room floor with Rylan.
3. I've learned that my baby will survive eating part of a Milkbone dog biscuit.
4. I've learned that if Rylan can eat the baby food meats with a smile on his face, then I shouldn't gag at the smell of them.
5. I've learned that no matter how hard you try to "baby proof" your house...it's not really possible.
6. I've learned that I love being the mother to a little boy!
7. I've learned that I fall more in love with Rylan's daddy each time I watch my two boys play together.
8. I've learned that a diaper bag can hold more "stuff" than you think.
9. I've learned that my heart melts when Rylan snuggles into me and lays his head on my shoulder.
10. I've learned that I love my little family more than words could ever explain!
I can't believe Rylan is just about to turn one! It seems like the struggle we went through to get him took forever and now that he is here time is flying by. I am so thankful for all the joy in my life!
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. Psalm 136:1
